Michael is the founder and Clinical Director of North Pointe Counseling Center, and a supervisor for Licensed Associate Counselors.  He is a co-author of Breaking Free... a journey.  Michael holds a Masters in Professional Counseling, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Trauma, Abuse and Deprivation. 

Prior to founding North Pointe Counseling Center, Mike worked as a therapist at the Calvary Center, a faith-based residential treatment center for substance abuse and problem gambling.  He also has 28 years' experience associated with corporate team building, business management, and training.  He specializes with adults recovering from traumatic life events, abusive relationships, anxiety and depression, and addictive behaviors.  Mike is trained in EMDR and provides insight-oriented, directive therapy.

Karen Merry, MAPC, LAC

Karen specializes in issues of sexuality and healing the wounds of abuse, as well as issues of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and spiritual needs.  She holds a Masters in Professional Counseling, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation, and a certificate in Biblical Counseling.

With over 30 years of vocational ministry experience as a missionary and pastor's wife, Karen brings a unique understanding of the needs facing clergy families and those in Christian Leadership.  Karen provides holistic, integrated, faith-based counseling.
